Techniquest Visit

Reception visited Techniquest today and were very excited to look for Delyth the Dragon and her fairytale friends. We have had great fun exploring light and shadows. Everyone has had a fantastic day!

What fun the Reception children  have had creating lard and seed bird feeders. They used their fine motor control to spread the lard onto kitchen towel rolls and then rolled them in the bird seed. We then hung them for the birds during our welly walk.

E safety fortnight has been a great success. Reception children know to think before they click when using a computer. They have also learnt to always write their own name on their work and how to use an online dictionary.  We have also worked in partners to help develop our communication skills. Well done everyone!

What a busy term we are having already!

The reception class have been emailing Bristol zoo to research penguins. We have also been on an adventurous penguin waddle complete with penguin masks. We are currently learning about trains and reading ‘The Train Ride’. Have a good look at our fantastic story maps that re tell the story using pictures and short words. I think they are great!

Autumn Welly walks

Miss Davies, Mrs Bond and the Reception children have loved going on their weekly Welly walks. We have gathered sticks and leaves to make Stick men and this week we loved collecting pine cones. We each found a pine cone and decorated them to make them into hedgehogs. It was great! Next half term we will collect more Autumn leaves to create beds for our hedgehogs to hibernate in.
